The conflict between the two nations, which became independent at the fall of the Soviet Union, had persisted for nearly 37 years; from February 1988 until today, August 8, 2025.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that it was an "historic day."
"This simply would not have been possible without President Trump's personal engagement and his ... commitment to peace in our regions," said the Armenian Prime Minister, adding that "as it says in the Holy Bible, 'Blessed are the peacemakers because they will be called the children of God.'"
The two leaders agreed that Trump should definitely receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
"This is a tangible result of President Trump's leadership. ... Who else besides Trump deserves it?" President Aliyev asked reporters who broke into applause. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
