"Millions of people are suffering in Pakistan right now as a result of the worst flooding in decades. But events like this are also an opportunity for the floodgates of God's love to be poured out and received." -Jason Martens, Samaritan's Purse project manager

Local charity and children's outreach, Jesus My Shelter, has gone out to some of the areas affected to bring help and lift spirits.
Saqib Yaqub, with Jesus My Shelter, explained:
"This Sunday we dedicated our prayer service for the flood affectees in our country. We feel so sad to inform you that our country is facing the worst powerful floods in history. Unfortunately, these floods continue to ravage Pakistan. According to the climate change minister and National Disaster Management, these flash floods have affected more than 33,046,329 people, 1,051,570 houses damaged, 735,375 animals killed, 1,634 people injured and more than 1200 deaths.
"Me and my wife "Sana" along with our team got a chance to visit one of the villages we work in. We met children and their families to learn about their, and adjoining areas' current situation. We came to know that some areas are completely disconnected due to collapsing of connecting bridges. (Image credit: Jesus My Shelter)
"We are seeing the great damages near and around us. Great need of safe-drinking-water and food. Children and families are hungry."
Another ministry, Samaritan's Purse, is also bringing aid in the form of food, shelter and safe drinking water to those affected in the area.
"Millions of people are suffering in Pakistan right now as a result of the worst flooding in decades. But events like this are also an opportunity for the floodgates of God's love to be poured out and received," said Jason Martens, Samaritan's Purse project manager.
