Kids Surprise Teacher Battling Stage 4 Cancer

The 66-year-old educator from Greenfield, Wisconsin, Carol Mack, has been teaching for the longest time. And for many years, generation after generation of students learned from her wisdom. Her students love her. That's why everyone became sad when they found out she had cancer.

Consequently, Carol is currently battling Stage 4 cancer and had to be moved to hospice care. But even before she could leave, 26 of her students came to surprise her. They wouldn't allow her to go without saying goodbye.

The kids from grades 1-4 serenaded their teacher Carol with worship songs. The sweet teacher sat and listened at the entrance of Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. Then they exchanged warm hugs. The moment moved everyone who witnessed to tears.

Heartwarming Moment

The nurse, Luiza Campols, who assisted Carol, said, "It was the most beautiful, touching thing."

What's more, it's not just the kids who want to honor the good teacher. Their parents used to be her students as well. Hence, they wanted to honor her too.

"It was overwhelming and very special," Carol said. "I hope people see how much these kids and their teacher loved each other and how our school community came together."

Carol has been teaching for 45 years, even while she was battling cancer. Her condition didn't stop her from serving her students well. Perhaps that passion surely resonated to her students that they couldn't forget her.

What a bitter-sweet moment! May this remind us to keep loving, serving, and sacrificing for others in the same way Christ loved us. May we leave a legacy that always points people to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
