In June, Ron DeSantis, viewed as a potential presidential candidate in 2024, said he is prepared to put on the "full armor of God" to push back against "the left's schemes."

"As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state."

The 43-year-old governor went on to say his wife—whom he married in 2010—is a "true fighter" who will "never, never, never give up," an apparent nod to a speech delivered by Winston Churchill in 1941, when he was prime minister of the United Kingdom.
