"Ahé'hee (Thank you) @POTUS! As hosts of the Land, we will continue to advocate for our Native families. No more stolen/killed brothers & sisters of our American Indian citizens. Together, we can combat against this national issue. Let's continue to work as Nation-to-Nation." -Navajo Nation Vice President Myron Lizer

Trump first toured the Honeywell International facility which is producing face masks and ventilators, then sat down for a round table discussion with Navajo Nation leaders, Arizona Gov. Ducey, and US Sen. Martha McSally.

According to Indian Country Today, the President spoke with Navajo Nation Vice President Myron Lizer and Gila River Governor Stephen Lewis regarding their battles with the coronavirus. He and the US Treasury Department confirmed that the Navajo Nation will receive $600 million in relief funds...

"The Navajo Nation is a Nation within a Nation," Lizer said on Twitter. "We appreciate President Trump for supplying our Tribal Reservation with the rapid-result Abbott Coronavirus test as this demonstrates a hand-up & not a hand-out to our Navajo Citizens."

They also discussed the terrible situation involving Native women going missing and being murdered across all of Indian Country including Alaska.

Last year, President Trump signed a proclamation to bring awareness to the situation, and yesterday, he signed a proclamation recognizing May 5th as Missing and Murdered American Indians and Alaska Native Awareness Day.

Later, Navajo Nation Vice President Myron Lizer tweeted: "Ahé'hee (Thank you) @POTUS! As hosts of the Land, we will continue to advocate for our Native families. No more stolen/killed brothers & sisters of our American Indian citizens. Together, we can combat against this national issue. Let's continue to work as Nation-to-Nation."
