On CNN, Daily Signal President Addresses Kirk Assassination, 'Hate Speech' and Liberal HypocrisySome on the Left have lost their jobs due to their employers seeing comments they've made on social media about Kirk's death, saying they were happy about it or that he deserved it.
Rob Bluey described the "outpouring of people going to church—sometimes for the first time—bringing their kids to church" as the exact thing Americans need to "find some of that common ground" with one another. Despite the unity seen from Christians, it's clear many on the Left are unhappy with the consequences people have faced for their public reactions to Kirk's assassination. Some on the Left have lost their jobs due to their employers seeing comments they've made on social media about Kirk's death, saying they were happy about it or that he deserved it. One of the most notable instances occurred with Matthew Dowd. The now-former MSNBC analyst said immediately after Kirk's assassination that "hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which lead to hateful actions." Soon after, MSNBC fired Dowd for his comments. Some Democrats say they are concerned this may be an overreaction, but as Bluey explained, if we're going to criticize the Trump administration, we should also point out that the Biden administration went after parents for attending school board meetings and protesting outside of abortion clinics. President Donald Trump echoed this sentiment in a brief phone interview with NBC News on Sept. 13, where he said, "I'd like to see it [the nation] heal, but we're dealing with a radical left group of lunatics, and they don't play fair, and they never did." While hosting "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Monday, Vice President JD Vance said, "Call them out, and h—, call their employer," in response to the comments made online by many on the Left. CNN host Audie Cornish also questioned Bluey on the scrutiny FBI Director Kash Patel has faced over the FBI's handling of the Epstein files, saying, "Not to be that person, but someone is going to bring up Epstein as well?" Bluey responded, saying he believed "Republicans will by and large defend Kash Patel." He continued, "I think that Kash Patel recognizes that Trump wants to see things done differently at the FBI than have been done in the past, and that's why he's given him his endorsement."
