MSNBC's Jen Psaki Horrified over Speaker Johnson's Christian Faith"...I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great nation, and they deserve it." -Speaker Mike Johnson
"I am a Bible-believing Christian. Someone asked me today in the media, they said, well, it's curious. People are curious, what does Mike Johnson think about any issue under the sun?" Johnson told Fox News. "I said, 'Well, go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it.' That's my worldview." She said Americans should be scared that Johnson is what she called a Christian fundamentalist. "Most Americans might not be able to pick Mike Johnson out of a lineup, but in reality he's far from benign," said Psaki. "It's not just his political ideology that should scare us. Johnson is basically a Christian fundamentalist." Psaki reacted as if Johnson had just admitted being from another planet. "You heard that right!" said Psaki. "The Bible doesn't just inform his worldview, it is his worldview." READ: School Under Fire For Singing Religious Songs And Psaki is not the only one alarmed by Johnson's religious beliefs. There are even some members of his own party, along with a host of conservative pundits, who are bristling at the idea that the new Speaker of the House actually follows the teachings of the Bible. Johnson is a Bible-believing evangelical Christian who attends a Southern Baptist church and it's a welcome change to have someone in charge who seeks God's counsel on a daily basis. "I believe that Scripture, the Bible, is very clear that God is the one that raises up those in authority," Johnson said. "He raised up each of you. All of us. And I believe that God has allowed and ordained each and every one of us to be here at this specific moment. This is my belief. I believe that each one of us has a huge responsibility today to use the gifts God has given us to serve the extraordinary people of this great nation, and they deserve it." FOUNDING FATHERS WERE CHRISTIANS Throughout our nation's history, our leaders have openly acknowledged their reliance on Almighty God, as I wrote in my best-selling book, "Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation." Click here to read. It was Alexander Hamilton—the darling of Broadway liberals—who once said that he had tender reliance on the mercy of the Almighty through the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ. George Washington and Samuel Adams echoed those words. And so did Benjamin Franklin. "As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and His religion as He left them to us, the best the world ever saw or is likely to see," Franklin once said. And consider this exhortation from President John Quincy Adams: "In the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior. The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity." I hate to break it to Jen Psaki and the other godless heathens at MSNBC, but this great nation was actually founded by Christian fundamentalists. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
