Local WBZ-TV News Anchor David Wade posted to Twitter that Dukes County is putting out calls for "clinical and non-clinical" workers to help deal with the influx of undocumented migrants who've been dumped in their backyard.

"Emergency officials on Martha's Vineyard are now asking for volunteers to help with the 'unexpected urgent humanitarian situation,'" Wade posted.

According to local reports, roughly 50 migrants got off the planes at the local airport and literally began wandering the streets until they found city buildings and were met by local officials. At first, they told authorities they'd come in from Texas, creating confusion when the Florida governor's office released a statement taking credit for sending the flights.

In the statement, DeSantis claimed the group had been flown in from Florida and was "part of the state's relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations," adding, "States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as 'sanctuary states' and support for the Biden Administration's open border policies."

Local officials in Martha's Vineyard, a popular presidential vacation spot and home to a number of politicians including former President Barack Obama, said they didn't have any warning that the flights were coming. The town reportedly had to enlist the help of a Spanish-speaker from a local high school to help communicate with the migrants, who are reportedly from Venezuela and don't speak English.

Some Republican governors, including DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey have taken to bussing—or, in this case, flying—illegal aliens out of their states and into left-leaning "sanctuary" cities like New York City, Washington, DC, and Chicago to try and highlight the humanitarian crisis experienced every single day in border towns, as the Biden administration's open-door policies continue to spur unprecedented waves of illegal immigration from Central and South America.

And, if leaving a group of a few dozen hungry migrants to wander aimlessly around Martha's Vineyard sounds heartless, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the literally thousands of illegal aliens who flood across the border into small towns throughout Texas and Arizona, destroying private property, overwhelming local resources, and, tragically, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake.
