Surveillance video shows the elderly man sitting down during the Aug. 1 incident when another individual suddenly walks over, attacks him, and steals his phone and wallet.

The Daily Mail reported the victim is believed to be in his 70s and was eating at Raffallo's Pizza in Los Angeles, at the time of the brutal assault.

But the situation didn't end there, as business owner Tim Ratcliff, who was reportedly eating nearby with his girlfriend, ran after the perpetrator, tackled him, and held him down until authorities arrived.
