US District Judge Stan Baker issued a preliminary injunction Tuesday stopping enforcement of the jab mandate for Americans who work in positions contracted with the federal government, granting a request submitted by South Carolina Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson.

Fortune reported that the federal contractor mandate, intended to to take effect on January 4, would have affected "roughly a quarter of the US workforce," targeting "companies that do business with the federal government, including Lockheed Martin Corp., Microsoft Corp., Alphabet Inc.‘s Google, and General Motors Co."
