In the video, Cooney states, "I've had a lot of police come to me, worried about what they're being asked to do at the moment. Unfortunately, no one within the police can actually speak. And that's my role, I'm here to speak for them."

Cooney cites an open letter he wrote to Michael Fuller, the Police Commissioner of New South Wales.

The letter, titled: "Open Letter Concerning the Police Enforcement of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions" begins...

"We are writing to you to raise concerns we have about the use of the police to enforce the ongoing restrictions placed upon our citizens relating to COVID-19, which has seriously eroded community trust in our great police force. (Screengrab image)

Since the Attorney General declared a State of Emergency for the novel coronavirus, our governments have acted upon certain powers to impose restrictions on its citizens, using the police to enforce their rules..."

"[The letter] shows that what we're enforcing was not justified," notes Cooney, adding that "COVID is not what we're being told it is ... COVID's not about health, it's about control."
