The incident took place June 16, according to The Iowa Standard. An assistant manager for the center told the local outlet patrons are free to wear clothing that aligns with their chosen gender and sexual identities. One resident in Pella, where the pool is located, said that, when the issue was raised, facility staffers said there was "nothing they could do."
