His love for his family—and for God—is what prompted him to write his bestseller 52 Things Kids Need From a Dad. He wants fathers to know that they will feel respected and empowered when they initiate activities that build lifelong positives into their children.

And, he says, it's never too late for that to happen.

"The big secret is to start now," Payleitner told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. "God can redeem the years that have passed, and God can push you toward a new future. It's not too late.

"Even if you have a 25-year-old, who you haven't talked to him or her since they were in high school for some reason or another ... you know what? There's a chance if you pray about it and think about it and look for opportunities that you can reenter that kid's life and make a difference.

"There are always opportunities to restore and to refresh. Relationships can be mended, and they can be healed. We can forgive one another and move on. And I'm not talking altruistic with rose-colored glasses on my eyes. I'm saying this is the Word of God, and we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

"He's the God of second chances. Let's turn the page and let's try to be positive today and encouraging, moving forward, because that's what God wants us to do. He wants us to rest in Him and find joy in our relationship with Him." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
