Faith Over Fear: Nik Wallenda Faces His Most Dangerous Walk Yet; over an Active Volcano, Tonight"I'm always praying." -Nik Wallenda
Nik could certainly have retired after that amazing feat and no one would blame him, but never one to stop 'pressing on', he then set similarly death-defying world records by crossing over the Grand Canyon, Times Square and other incredible aerial walks.
Don Yaeger, writing for Forbes.com, put it this way: "At Masaya, what he plans will be unlike anything he's done before. There's not only the length of the walk—500 feet further than his Times Square crossing—there's also the winds—which will be stronger than those he faced over the Grand Canyon—and there's the roiling lava lake below—which is decidedly different from the churning falls of Niagara. Then, there are gases from the volcano which will require Wallenda to wear a mask and oxygen, as well as the heat, which will require him to wear modified shoes to counteract the intense temperatures." And, as is his family's tradition, the walk is with no safety gear or net.
He added to Reuters, "I will tell you that my first step I take will be a step of faith. It's not as though I'm fearless. It is more about me overcoming that fear." Tonight will be one to watch... and pray over. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here Click here for more information on Nik Wallenda and his walk across Masaya volcano.
