[Faithwire.com] Every now and then, someone in the public eye does something remarkable by committing their resources and influence to help others. That is exactly what Major League Baseball star pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi have just done. (Photo Credit: Realtor.com)

The couple has announced that they are giving away their $9.75 million Missouri mansion and land to a Christian camp for children with special needs and chronic illnesses, as reported by NBC Philadelphia.

The massive house boasts 104.7 acres of land with more than 1,700 feet of shoreline along Table Rock Lake.

Camp Barnabas has two locations in the Ozarks and is centered around Jesus. They declare in their core values that "Christ comes first always" and staffers should "point people to Christ in everything we do"…
